Angeline Wong's Profile

Angeline Wong is one of Malaysia’s most talented and innovative yet modern singers of this millennium. Hailed from the capital city of Kuala Lumpur, she started singing competitively at the age of six. At the age of seven, she had started dancing and later playing the piano professionally.


Her highest international honour is an appearance at the Asia Bagus Contest national TV show in Singapore in 1997. In 1996 she became the 2nd runner-up of Malaysia’s national radio RTM5 songs of Teresa Teng’s singing contest co-organised by the Selangor state Ann Xi Youth Association. Two years later in 1998 she became the 1st runner-up of the same national radio station’s singing contest co-organized by the national Federation of Hakka Associations. Both awards won at the state level is a strong testimony of her singing achievements in the country.

Over the years, Angeline had won a total of eight singing championships under her belt. She had also won over thirty trophies in her singing career which has become an envy to her singing peers in the industry. She had also won Best Showmanship trophies at three national level singing competitions. She also has had a couple of singing stints with cruise ships in Hong Kong and Singapore. In recent years, she has been invited to sit among judges for many singing contests and talent shows. Even though her songs are predominantly in Cantonese and Mandarin, Angeline is very talented as she also sings in English and the Japanese languages.

Angeline’s first formal concert, A Tribute To Teresa Teng, co-host with two of her friends was successfully held at the Royal Selangor Club in Kuala Lumpur with a sold out capacity in 2007. The year 2008 saw the debut of her promotional CD titled the “ Beautiful Queen of Songs” followed by a sold out solo concert in 2009. She is also fondly known as the “New Generation Teresa Teng of Malaysia”. Following the release of her CD, a five minutes video news clips was also released later in the year with a national press conference.

Today, Angeline is an established singer in the Malaysian entertainment circuit. She is a much sort after singer for concerts, charity shows, wedding dinners, corporate functions and the likes. She is also the managing partner of two entertainment companies.
